Nationally schools have seen a drop in their achievement when compared to the 2021 Teacher Assessed Grades. However, at Featherstone, the percentage of students passing 5 or more GCSEs is 81%, which is broadly in line with last year. Many different measures of success are above that seen last year including the overall pass rate at Grade 5 or above. There has also been an increase the overall Attainment 8 measure, which reflects the contributions of all subject areas.
Mr Wadwa, Headteacher said: “We are delighted with the very strong results achieved by our Year 11 GCSE students despite the loss of learning they suffered throughout the lockdowns. Year 11 came back to school in September 2021 with a determination that defied the challenging circumstances all families had faced. Throughout the academic year they have shown a maturity and resilience that underpins their enormously impressive results”.
We so proud of all our young people today, congratulations!
